Nico Berardi grew up in North Jersey, the kind of place where Sunday gravy is a religion and everyone has an opinion about bread. He cooked his way through his twenties — diners, catering trucks, one ill-advised food cart — before spending a few years working container ships, which taught him that the best meals happen in the worst kitchens.
He writes cozy sci-fi about food, misfits, and the stubborn belief that feeding people is the most human thing you can do — even when the people aren’t human. The Junk Drawer is his debut series.
